Ni Primera Ni Dama

Original Title

Ni Primera Ni Dama

Director

Barbara Cupisti

In a world where tradition and power are often synonymous with stagnation, Irina Karamanos, a young anthropologist and political activist (former partner of the current president of Chile, Gabriel Boric), breaks the mould.
In 2022, she accepted and dismantled the role of First Lady, refusing to be merely a symbolic figure, shaking Latin American society and inspiring new generations.
Irina fought gender stereotypes and protected democracy, returning political power to where it belongs: to the people who were actually elected.
‘The first lady who no longer wanted to be first lady’, ‘ni primera ni dama’, represents the genesis of a new idea immersed in the present.
